The Branding Wizard is used to perform a variety of tasks relating to SafeHouse groups and smartcards. On this page, you are being asked to choose which task you wish to perform.
If you are running this wizard for the first time, please choose the first option to create your initial group.
Choose this option to create a new SafeHouse group.
When using this option, you will:
Choose a name and administrator password for your new group.
Select a filename to be used for storing your group's information (.BRAND file).
Embed the resulting group's .BRAND file into the local copy of SafeHouse installed on your PC, which allows you to begin experimenting with volumes and resetting passwords on your own PC without first needing to create a customized SafeHouse Setup program.
The .BRAND file created here will be needed by the SafeHouse Deployment Wizard.
This option is used when you need to work with a .BRAND file that you've previously created. You'll typically use this option when you're making minor changes to an existing group or when you are upgrading to a newer version of SafeHouse and need to make sure your local files are matched up to the right group.
When using this option, you will:
Choose an existing .BRAND file to work with, or if lost, extract one from a branded set of SafeHouse files.
Optionally make minor text changes to the information stored in the selected .BRAND file.
Embed the selected .BRAND file into the local copy of SafeHouse installed on your PC, which allows you to begin experimenting with volumes and resetting passwords on your own PC without first needing to create a customized SafeHouse Setup program.
Choose this option to create smartcards for an existing branding group.
This wizard option will help you with the following smartcard tasks:
Saving your group administrator password to a smartcard as plain text.
Creating an administrator smartcard which can be used by support personnel to reset volume passwords without needing to know the actual administrator password for the group.
See the Smartcard Options page for more information.
