Professional Edition Only

/Filesystem

Specifies the internal hard drive format to use for an encrypted volume. Default is AUTO.

If you are not familiar with the low level differences between Windows' file systems, we recommend that you allow SafeHouse to pick for you by accepting the default.

For experienced people who might notice that NTFS is not referenced below, this is because SafeHouse does not natively format virtual hard drives (volumes) to this format. FAT is a much simpler format and is the preferred format used by this software. However, SafeHouse is fully compatible with NTFS and will work just fine if you subsequently reformat your SafeHouse volume to NTFS using the standard Windows format utility.

One note about reformatting volumes to NTFS is that once you do so, they will no longer be expandable. SafeHouse only knows how to resize volumes that are formatted using one of the FAT (or AUTO) drive formats.

If you specify NONE as the filesystem format, you will need to use the Windows formatter before being able to use the volume to store files.

Syntax:

/FILESYSTEM = [AUTO | FAT12 | FAT16 | FAT32 | NONE]

Examples:

/Filesystem=AUTO

/Filesystem=FAT32
